Gokyo Trek and over Renjo Pass to Thame

Gokyo and Renjo pass trek offers a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch and rhododendron forest. The trail passes the small yak-grazing settlements to reach the Gokyo lakes. The Gokyo Peak (5480m) ascent can be taken as the one of the highlights of the trek. There we have good time to savor the incredible scenery. From there we can observe the magnificent views of Everest (8848m), Makalu, Cho Oyo (8153m) and Lhotse (8511m) and many more.

Gokyo and Renjo pass trekking route is off the usual beaten track. At that place, we are rewarded with a fine view of the Gokyo lakes on one side, the Rermo Pokhari (lakes) on the other side, and a myriad of snowy peaks in the background offering the incredible atmosphere. The alternative route begins from Gokyo is much easier. From there, the trail makes descend along the opposite bank of the Dudh (Milk) Kosi.
