Gokyo and Renjo pass trek offers a gradual
ascent up the valley passing through patches of
birch and rhododendron forest. The trail passes
the small yak-grazing settlements to reach the
Gokyo lakes. The Gokyo Peak (5480m) ascent can
be taken as the one of the highlights of the
trek. There we have good time to savor the
incredible scenery. From there we can observe
the magnificent views of Everest (8848m), Makalu,
Cho Oyo (8153m) and Lhotse (8511m) and many
more.
Gokyo and Renjo pass trekking route is off the
usual beaten track. At that place, we are
rewarded with a fine view of the Gokyo lakes on
one side, the Rermo Pokhari (lakes) on the other
side, and a myriad of snowy peaks in the
background offering the incredible atmosphere.
The alternative route begins from Gokyo is much
easier. From there, the trail makes descend
along the opposite bank of the Dudh (Milk) Kosi.
